I love Leif Helgarson, Viking Vampire, Esq. I have to say that combo makes a pretty cool attorney. If you could have a paranormal/mythical beastie (or combo) covering your tuckus in court, what would you choose and why?
My bestie is a lawyer, and sadly not a mythical creature (even though she believes she might be a pixie in her previous life) can cover my tuckus in any court. She is AWESOME at bull-shitting and getting out of practically any situation. Be that with the family, or friends or strangers.

Yeah, bestie is all kindda bad ass pixie!
The police show up to question Atticus about his Irish Wolfhound, Oberon. If you could own any dog breed, what would it be and why? (P.S. Oberon is going on my list of favorite sidekicks!)
I didn't start to like Oberon until I got to second week. And the more I read, I can't help but love the Irish Wolfhound.

I am extremely scared of dogs, cats... anything with sharp claws or teeth after a very unfortunate event. That's why I have fishes for pets now.
Malina Sokolowski and the other Sisters of the Three Auroras coven have my antennae up. What is your opinion of them?
They are witches! And as far as I am concern they do not look like they went to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry or Beauxbatons Academy of Magic. So no, witch without a witchcraft certified degree is not trust worthy ;)

Brighid, goddess of poetry, fire and the forge, gave Atticus the power of Cold Fire, which can be used to fight off that nasty lilttle hellspawn. If you could wield one magical power, what would it be and why?
I would like to have the power to jump from one place to the other. I am feeling the need of this power more and more everyday as I have to seat through hours of traffic jam before I can reach anywhere.
The cops show up at Atticus’ shop to search for poor Oberon, who remains magically hidden throughout the ordeal. What is the one thing you would do if you could remain hidden from sight? I want to hear some good answers for this one!
This thing would really come handy in the exam hall, in the line to pay my bills, and so many things! Let's not go to the perverted side of my mind.

That's it for the third week. See you all next time :)

Kiss Me, I'm Irish read-along: Chapters 6-10

Discussion chapter 1-5
Discussion chapter 6-10
In Chapter 6, Atticus goes hunting with Oberon and Flidais. What was supposed to be a fun hunting trip turned rather disastrous. Were you expecting something like this to happen or did it catch you by surprise? Have you ever had something that should have been fun turn disastrous or nearly disastrous?
I didn't like Flidais from the beginning, so it wasn't a surprise when everything went haywire.

Too many things went disastrous. Every time there is a family outing the car will ALWAYS break down in the middle of the road. At least now we can get the car fixed, hubs has some car knowledge after all ;)
We are only briefly introduced to the witches (or, a witch) in chapter 7. What are your first impressions? How much would you trust the witches? Why?
The witch sounds okay, with a college student appearance. But as Atticus suspects you can never tell from the appearance how old or evil or good she might be, I am not ready to trust her just yet.

There only few witches I will trust. One, Minerva McGonagall and second Hermione Granger. Yeah I am sort of a Harry Potter geek :D

Oberon says, “With dogs you just go up and smell their asses and you know where you stand. It’s so much easier. Why can’t humans do that?” Do you ever wish there was an easier way to find out where you stand with someone (besides Oberon’s suggestion, of course)? In what cases would it be easier or better to hide your true feelings?
I think we all face theses sort of situation in our life, there is always someone that makes things difficult. But I wish there was some way to find out where you stand with the person without being too obvious about it. I am pretty shy person, so I just pretty much avoid 0~0
Chapter 9 makes Atticus’ life much more difficult: the witches are in some way working with Aeghus Og, Bres comes after Atticus, and more trouble appears at the end of the chapter. Have you made sense of what has happened thus far? Any predictions for what might happen?
Everyone seem to be after Atticus, so at this point it's better not to trust anyone, that's the only thing I am getting out of this.

My prediction? *scratches head* I am BAD at predicting stuff. When I do sometimes they fit but most of the time just blah. I say Atticus ends up battling with Aeghus with the sword. I'm just sayin.
Atticus has had plenty of time to cultivate attitudes and ethics that would allow him to live a very long time. What do you think it is about Atticus that has allowed him to live for as long as he has?
With all these binding he has around him, it's pretty hard to get to him. He moves around allot, not spending too much time in one place. Have Oberon, also I want to add Morrigan but I am not sure yet where she stands with Atticus. But at the end, Atticus is pretty smart he has been avoiding Aeghus for centuries, thinks with his head when faced with a Goddess. But dude if you keep that up Aeghus will have your head, so sometimes it's better to think with the actual head... why does it still sound wrong in my head?

End of discussion 6-10

Can someone please tell me if there is real romantic interest for Atticus with anyone?

Kiss Me, I'm Irish read-along: Chapters 1-5

Hosted by Felicia - Geeky Blogger's Book Blog, Amanda - On A Book Bender, Ash - Smash Attack!, Jen - In The Closet With A Bibliophile and Missie - The Unread Reader

Officially started reading the book last night. Hola to all my turtle and rabbit buddies and thank you for joining in Hounded read-along.
Let's start your engines and read, set gooooooo in turtle speed :)
Kevin Hearne had the most perfect beginning for this book:  "There are many perks to living for twenty-one centuries, and formost among them is bearing witness to the rare birth of genius."  If you were to live for centuries what do you think you would be excited to see?
Scratches head... time machine I guess? Yeah, that's probably the one and only thing which can will hold my attention the most, and it's very likely that I might end up hogging that thing for myself. So I can go back in time in case I missed meeting someone.
In the 2nd chapter we learn about the amulet and its protection powers!  Do you think having met the Morrigan and heard about Aenghus Og that it will be enough to protect Atticus?  I mean the Morrigan has a point about hot chicks coming after him and his defenses might be down! He is very male!
I highly doubt that. There won't be any story if he is all safe, right? I have not come to the part where 'he is very male' actually means here. Maybe when I go ahead and read further!
The literary world's coolest dog is introduced in this chapter!  Did you love Oberon immediately?  Show me a picture or describe the type of animal you would love to have as a talking companion! (Cat, Dog, Mouse, Sloth, Horse---what is your pick--pictures please)?
I will be honest, I did not feel anything for Oberon :( I am hoping that might change. I really do.

As for talking companions.. cat, definitely a cat. And has Antonio Banderas's voice :)

In this chapter Flidais asked Atticus what his name is and then precedes to ask if anyone actually believes he is Greek?  He says nobody pays attention to names here.  Do you know what your name means and where it comes from?  Or do you have a name you wish had?  Let's talk names!
My name, Jannat Ara Prangon means the land of heaven. It's a mixture Arabian and Bangla literature. It's a tongue tying name which only a few people can pronounce, and sadly I am not one of them.

Oh yes, I had hit a phase around the time when I was in 6th or 7th grade and I used to doodle my name as Aria. That has been an embarrassing experience, let's not go there O_o
We learn about Atticus' lawyers in this chapter, a rather unique combo!  Without jumping ahead, would you hire a lawyer combination of two supernaturals who on the surface would appear to be natural enemies or at the very least two very Alpha attitudes? What would be the positives and negatives of that decision.
Most definitely. A duo of werewolf and a vampire as lawyers by my side any legal threats that might accrue is sure to get shredded between those two. So there isn't really any negative side of having two supernatural layers by my side ;)

Atticus O’Sullivan, last of the Druids, lives peacefully in Arizona, running an occult bookshop and shape-shifting in his spare time to hunt with his Irish wolfhound. His neighbors and customers think that this handsome, tattooed Irish dude is about twenty-one years old—when in actuality, he’s twenty-one centuries old. Not to mention: He draws his power from the earth, possesses a sharp wit, and wields an even sharper magical sword known as Fragarach, the Answerer.

Unfortunately, a very angry Celtic god wants that sword, and he’s hounded Atticus for centuries. Now the determined deity has tracked him down, and Atticus will need all his power—plus the help of a seductive goddess of death, his vampire and werewolf team of attorneys, a sexy bartender possessed by a Hindu witch, and some good old-fashioned luck of the Irish—to kick some Celtic arse and deliver himself from evil.
