Reading, Listening and mostly Watching

I have been doing some listening, reading and watching  and I am listing them down on a post, if anyone's interested!

Reading

Wander Dust (The Seraphina Parrish Trilogy #1)
by Michelle Warren
I am quite enjoying the book. Hopefully will finish this within this weekend

The Force of Wind (Elemental Mysteries)
by Elizabeth Hunter
I love that Miss Hunter always uses a humangus library in her cover.

Listening

Nope it's not audiobooks. I am still on the audiobook look out, don't want to end up buying one I won't like. I am choosy when it comes to audiobooks. *~*
I can't seem to listening to these two songs for some reason. I am singing them EVERYWHERE on top of lungs. And trust me, me singing is NOT a good thing.

Me and my box #2

Drags in box for my weekly updates
Hello, last week was a good week. It started with Eid, so lots of celebration in my part of the world along with ALLOT of bbq'ing. My sisters are big on making stick kabab's. My younger sister made this

It was very yum! And 10 seconds later

How those four remained 10 seconds later is still a mystery o_O

So in other news I read and reviewed TWO books in a week! I know I am surprised myself ;)

I read Heart Of Steel by Meljean Brook. I was not disappointed. And I think I shall be buying the audiobooks as well. WOOT! Archimedes Fox and Lady Corsair was absolutely awesome to read about. And I still love the Iron seas series so I will be following this series in the future.

I have also finished The Body at the Tower by Y.S. Lee last week. This book is the second book of The Agency series. And I am happy to say I have found another series to love and adore. I am so glad that the third book The Traitor and the Tunnel is already out in UK. So no problem purchasing it from there.

Me and my box #1

Drags in box to start my ranting about my week.

This month started pretty gloomy with midterms, but didn't last long as the mid term was done by the second. Then I spent some time reading, and I finally finished one of the books that I started to read for Bout Of Books read-a-thon A Spy In The House by Y.S. Lee. I might have exaggerated how much I loved the book on my review so I thought I should do that again. If you haven't read this book, definitely check it out.

When I was seeing everyone reading Heart Of Steel by Meljean Brook in my goodreads/ Google reader/ twitter updates, I just couldn't handle it. I BOUGHT THE DAMN BOOK! I am so not book shopping for another month I swear (this time I will keep it..... I think). I am not to blame for this purchase, it's just too tempting and I have been waiting for a looooong time for this book to come out after The Iron Duke.

In other news I have a new rating system
A new boyfriend  XD
The complete series of Harry Potter!
And I also started watching the new series Once Upon A Time.

In My Mailbox

IMM is a weekly meme hosted by The Story Siren and I just had to do this meme this week and purticularly on a Thursday seeing the IMM button made by The Unread Reader.

This week I have had books that simply flooder my home.

"No secret stays hidden forever ..."

A phone call from an old friend sets Dr. Giovanni Vecchio back on the path of a mystery he’d abandoned years before. He never expected a young librarian could hold the key to the search, nor could he have expected the danger she would attract. Now he and Beatrice de Novo will follow a twisted maze that leads them from the archives of a university library, through the fires of Renaissance Florence, and toward a confrontation they never could have predicted.

A Hidden Fire is a paranormal mystery/romance for adult readers. It is the first book in the Elemental Mysteries Series.

Cas Lowood has inherited an unusual vocation: He kills the dead.

So did his father before him, until he was gruesomely murdered by a ghost he sought to kill. Now, armed with his father's mysterious and deadly athame, Cas travels the country with his kitchen-witch mother and their spirit-sniffing cat. Together they follow legends and local lore, trying to keep up with the murderous dead—keeping pesky things like the future and friends at bay.

When they arrive in a new town in search of a ghost the locals call Anna Dressed in Blood, Cas doesn't expect anything outside of the ordinary: track, hunt, kill. What he finds instead is a girl entangled in curses and rage, a ghost like he's never faced before. She still wears the dress she wore on the day of her brutal murder in 1958: once white, now stained red and dripping with blood. Since her death, Anna has killed any and every person who has dared to step into the deserted Victorian she used to call home.

But she, for whatever reason, spares Cas's life.
Gift.

Saba has spent her whole life in Silverlake, a dried-up wasteland ravaged by constant sandstorms. The Wrecker civilization has long been destroyed, leaving only landfills for Saba and her family to scavenge from. That's fine by her, as long as her beloved twin brother Lugh is around. But when a monster sandstorm arrives, along with four cloaked horsemen, Saba's world is shattered. Lugh is captured, and Saba embarks on an epic quest to get him back.

Suddenly thrown into the lawless, ugly reality of the world outside of desolate Silverlake, Saba is lost without Lugh to guide her. So perhaps the most surprising thing of all is what Saba learns about herself: she's a fierce fighter, an unbeatable survivor, and a cunning opponent. And she has the power to take down a corrupt society from the inside. Teamed up with a handsome daredevil named Jack and a gang of girl revolutionaries called the Free Hawks, Saba stages a showdown that will change the course of her own civilization.

Blood Red Road has a searing pace, a poetically minimal writing style, violent action, and an epic love story. Moira Young is one of the most promising and startling new voices in teen fiction.
Bought with my own money

I have quite a handful. And I plan to finish them this month (hopefully I can do it!)

Goodreads Recommendations

You know how I am always looking for reccomendations for books and all? So I think goodreads finally understood what I was looking for and  gave me a button to click.

I have found a new thing to obsess over in goodreads.
Goodreads Recommendations button

It's clickable
Goodreads recommends books based on what you have read, your to read and currently reading bookshelf. They also categorize it by genre
My nerdy heart did a flip flop when I saw this.
My Paranormal chart was so pretty!! And I do believe by the end of the day I would be adding ALL of them in my TBR. Contemporary was definitely sexy as hell. However some lists kept repeating the same book. But meh.

Paranormal
Stem Punk

Young Adult

This is just so muuuuch fun!!

2010 reading achievement

2010 reading achievement.
I have read like 30 something story books in the past six months. Before that it was all heavy college books. Brrrr.
What have I read in 2010
The Black Dagger series by J.R. Ward

I still have the last two books to finish, and hopefully someday I will, (not likely)
There are about eight books and a guide to BDB. All stand alone.
While this world is creative and one or two of this books are worth reading they are not really my thing.
So in a overall rating I give them

Then there were the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost

I have read two and there are couple of more left. I intent to read them (AND I WILL)
This books were good, I am a sucker for strong leading woman, and Cat was definitely strong.
My rating (based on the two I have red) for the series
I just read a few of the Dark Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon.

I read up to 7 of them. There are LOADS left. So I am not in a hurry to finish them right away.
They were interesting world building with Greek mythology and Dark Hunters hunting Damons. I new prospective on Vampire life.
I give them

Now switching back to some single books that I have read in 2010 and absolutely cannot wait to read the next part.

First is Seers Of Light by Jennifer Delucy.

Now that is a scary book. I slept with the nightlights on for two days.
Definitely worth reading and absolutely can not wait to start with the second one. TEEHEE!
This book deserves
Now there is one more book. I am sure people are sick of me from bantering about this, but I can not help it.
I am also glad that I was able to find some great friends through this series.
The Iron Seas series by Meljean Brook.

I have never been this enthusiastic over any series. They are absolutely awesome. The entire world of Steampunk is new to me, but I am glad that Meljean took a great measure on explaining them throughout the book.
five stars hand down
Finally I read The Hunger Games series by Suzanne Collins

I am out of words for these books. They desrve five stars. They are not romantic books, IMO. They were more of a statement of a war.

There are still so many books that I left out from this post. When I have the time and not lazy will do it. Promice.
Last day of the 2010 hope everyone is spending it as they want.
 Will see everyone next year!
