Half human, half god, Dagan Krayl is the Underworld's most powerful soul reaper. When one of his brothers is murdered, Dagan must use every ounce of his power to hunt down those responsible for his brutal death. But he must move swiftly—and carefully—if he's to have any chance of resurrecting his brother.

Yet that resurrection could wreak havoc on the mortal world. As an Otherkin, Roxy Tam has sworn to protect the human race, and it's her mission to stop Dagan. But when she sees him face-to-face, she realizes that she has seen him once before—a meeting that changed her life forever.

Neither Dagan nor Roxy expect to join forces for the sake of mankind. Or to have their loyalties tested as they struggle against the potent desire that threatens to consume them both….

My Thoughts

I have been looking forward to get in to a series like this. And I found one.
Eve Silver, is absolutely an awesome writer. She created an unique world and the entire story catched my attention from the very beginning. I loved the world and the character development. Roxy is a strong leading lady but so is Dagan *a leading dominant man* Their relationship is hard to figure out with all the lust and twisty situation they were in. Always making me guess who might succumb to their knees.

Overall it's a good book. I will give the second book a try :)

REVIEW: No Rest for the Wicca by Toni LoTempio

Genre: Urban fantasy, Mystery, Romance
Released: September 6, 2010
Kindle Format
My copy: ebook provided by the author

Book Synopses From Goodreads

Communing with the dead is an everyday occurrence for PI Morgan Hawkes. A half-Wiccan witch who can commune with spirits of those caught between worlds, Morgan uses her talents to exorcise the trapped ghost or demon as part of the Paranormal Investigation Squad – until a string of murders with a voodoo slant prompts the Special Forces Agency to ask for her assistance. Someone’s killing pureblood witches- and the SFA’s convinced Morgan’s heritage (her father was a voodoo priest) could be instrumental in solving the mystery. Teamed with dashing SF agent Cole St. John – an Inheritor Vampire that sets her blood racing – the two of them fight their attraction for each other as they race to stop a madman from unleashing a demonic force upon the world.

My Thoughts

No rest for Wicca by Toni LoTempio is a mystery filled urban fantasy that captured my attention because of the rich information on Wiccans and voodoo magic. The title of the novel does justice to the story, indeed there was no rest for the Wicca there.

Morgan Hawk a paranormal investigator exercising ghost of the supernatural world certainly became my favorite character by her constant sarcasm. Who doesn’t love the leading lady with a sense of humor that’s dipped in sarcasm? I know I do. Morgan is scarred from what happened in her past and she had issues letting them go and live her life to the fullest no matter what anyone said. In this situation taking on a homicide case seem like a bad idea but when she is pushed in to the bloody situation she takes control and sees it through. I loved the fact that Morgan didn’t depend on the leading man every time she got in trouble. She was strong and independent, another trait that makes her my favorite character from the book.

Cole St. John, now how to describe dead warm and sexy? Hmmm, I would say being a vampire already made him sexy and his dark brooding looks definitely didn’t hurt. Unfortunately in spite of being a vampire, Cole wasn’t a blood thirsty beast. Cole was cool and non controlling type, a unique combination for a leading man vampire! A good one, most definitely. No one likes a possessive control freak when it comes to romance. He lets Morgan choose, although he is persistent.

No Rest for the Wicca is a good book and anyone who loves urban fantasy, you might want to give this one a try as well. The cover might be a put off but I assure you the story isn’t.

My nerdy heart did a flip flop when I saw this.
My Paranormal chart was so pretty!! And I do believe by the end of the day I would be adding ALL of them in my TBR. Contemporary was definitely sexy as hell. However some lists kept repeating the same book. But meh.

Paranormal

Young Adult

This is just so muuuuch fun!!

REVIEW: A Tale Of Two Goblins by H.P. Mallory

Series: Dulcie O'Neil #2
Genre: Mystery, Paranormal, Romance
Released: March 21st 2011

Book Synopses from goodreads

A Dreamstalker— a creature that stalks and kills its victims in sleep.
A fairy in law enforcement determined to stop him.
A potions smuggler who possesses something she wants.
A vampire with his own agenda.
And a partner who couldn’t possibly be sexier or more frustrating.

Dulcie O’Neil is a fairy working in law enforcement for the Netherworld.
When Knight Vander approaches her with a case regarding comatose victims, she agrees to help him, imagining the most difficult part will be combatting her attraction to him.

But, what Dulcie isn’t betting on is the fact that the case becomes personal when she learns all the victims are somehow linked to her.

When her best friend falls victim to the Dreamstalker, Dulcie must do everything in her power to ensure her friend’s survival, including associating with criminals and accepting the fact that desperate times do definitely call for desperate measures.

My Thoughts

Five Stars hands down.

I am not so keen on the idea of fairy and all. But in case of H.P. Mallory's fairies I make an exception and I am glad that I did. Dulcie O'Niel is definitely one badass fairy. I am surprised at just how much I loved reading this book.

In the second series of Dulcie O'Niel, Dulcie has to find the person who is putting everyone she cares about to sleep. She is next and the key to not to let her mind wonder off is to not sleep.

Dulcie does some stuff she wouldn't in her right mind will do. Brings out more reckless side of her, and lets face it when there are lives are at stake, you will do almost anything to save them. Dulcie also realizes her feeling towards are Knight is extremely strong which ended the book in a bright mood.

Overall a really good book. If you are a fan of urban fantasy and Henry Cavill, this is a MUST read.

I just couldn't resist

REVIEW: To Kill a Warlock by H.P. Mallory

Series: Dulcie O'Neil #1
Genre: Mystery, Paranormal
Released: July 1st 2010
Kindle Format

Book Synopsis from goodreads

The murder of a dark arts warlock. A shape-shifting, ravenous creature on the loose. A devilishly handsome stranger sent to investigate. Sometimes working law enforcement for the Netherworld is a real bitch.

My Thoughts
First thought about the book - absolutely LOVED it.

H.P. Mallory is becoming one of my favorite author through her writing. After finishing her both books of Jolie Wilkins series, I am still eager to get the third one in my hand however I am a greedy person so I grabbed the next best thing, To Kill a Warlock. This series is a lot like the Jolie Wilkins series's paranormal world. Dulcie O'Neil is a fairy regulator who is working undercover with a Loki to find the criminals who brought back a creature from the other world.

Dulcie (I am not sure how it's pronounced though) is a fairy and part-time novel writer. Hot hunky men finds her very attractive and she finds a way to only have them as the fantasy hero of her books or sometimes her dreams.

The book doesn't have any cliff-hangers at the end, which it A+ for me. Dulcie returns in the second book A Tale of Two Goblins. And yes I am getting started on that as soon as I finish this review :')
