Zarek's Point of View:

Dark-Hunter: A soulless guardian who stands between mankind and those who would see mankind destroyed. Yeah, right. The only part of that Code of Honor I got was eternity and solitude.

Insanity: A condition many say I suffer from after being alone for so long. But I don't suffer from my insanity-I enjoy every minute of it.

Trust: I can't trust anyone...not even myself. The only thing I trust in is my ability to do the wrong thing in any situation and to hurt anyone who gets in my way.

Truth: I endured a lifetime as a Roman slave, and 900 years as an exiled Dark-Hunter. Now I'm tired of enduring. I want the truth about what happened the night I was exiled-I have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Astrid (Greek, meaning star): An exceptional woman who can see straight to the truth. Brave and strong, she is a point of light in the darkness. She touches me and I tremble. She smiles and my cold heart shatters.

Zarek: They say even the most damned man can be forgiven. I never believed that until the night Astrid opened her door to me and made this feral beast want to be human again. Made me want to love and be loved. But how can an ex-slave whose soul is owned by a Greek goddess ever dream of touching, let alone holding, a fiery star?

My Thoughts

Zarek’s book keeled me.
Good lord none of this warrior have had a happy childhood. Z’s childhood was the worst so far. I was in tears, AGAIN. I am so keeping some comfort food and tissues when I read the next one.
Astrid, the nymph who was sent by Artiemis to judge Zarek was blind. She is the little sister to The Fates. To judge Z she had thrown all kind of test to him which Z passed with flying colors. Lol.
Astrid had trouble with understanding Z as he kept pretty much to himself and he was really good at masking his emotions. Astrid with the help of her cousin she watches Z’s dream and in which she learns how cruel the world had really been to him. The Olympian Nymph soon finds herself attracted to the gorgeous man.
Z is an ass. Yes I said it, he was an ass BUT given what he suffered his long two thousand years and the human years it was understandable.
We met some new characters in this book, and my favorite was Simi. Simi was absolutely adorable in a very weird way. Simi is Ash’s demon who can take the shape of a human woman when she wishes. Her and Ash’s relation was very touching.
I still hate Artie, and I think I have cursed her aloud too many times and the babies have learned some new slangs, I am still not sure what to tell their mom about that one.
Overall this book was the most heartbreaking of them all. I only read the fourth one in the series and so far all each warrior’s past got more angsty with each book, so I am guessing next one will probably be heart wrenching. But thank you Sherrilyn Kenyon for giving each book a HEA, without that I would have been still crying in the corner.
