Book synopsis from goodreads

From miragrant.com: In 2014, two experimental viruses—a genetically engineered flu strain designed by Dr. Alexander Kellis, intended to act as a cure for the common cold, and a cancer-killing strain of Marburg, known as "Marburg Amberlee"—escaped the lab and combined to form a single airborne pathogen that swept around the world in a matter of days. It cured cancer. It stopped a thousand cold and flu viruses in their tracks.

It raised the dead.

Millions died in the chaos that followed. The summer of 2014 was dubbed "The Rising," and only the lessons learned from a thousand zombie movies allowed mankind to survive. Even then, the world was changed forever. The mainstream media fell, Internet news acquired an undeniable new legitimacy, and the CDC rose to a new level of power.

Set twenty years after the Rising, the Newsflesh trilogy follows a team of bloggers, led by Georgia and Shaun Mason, as they search for the brutal truths behind the infection. Danger, deceit, and betrayal lurk around every corner, as does the hardest question of them all:

When will you rise?

My Thoughts

The timeline of this book starts around 2039. When the world is taken over by a virus and people are not allowed to enter any place without having a blood-test first and greetings later.

I loved the entire situation from the get go. Georgia and Shaun, two siblings along with their blogger crew they report the news to the world. The world around them is tough but they are fighting it with what they have. By delivering the truth.

The author created a world where Zombie's exist and if you are infected there are no antivirus. The world is scary in there *not that it isn't scary in the real world* and there are moments when you want  nothing more than to hide under your blankets till the horrific scene is over. But it's sucks you in even though the blood and virus spreads faster than a wildfire. Grant's book is very well written and quite impossible to put down till you rich the end.

I must admit that I am not so big on audio-books after this. I feel like if I had read it rather than listened to the books I would have enjoyed it even more. Although both Paula Christensen and Jesse Barnstein has very attractive voice.

This is my first zombie book, and I am glad that I gave this one a try. If you are a sci-fi, Zombie lover I will definitely suggest this, it is a must read.

I give thiiiiiis

  2. Hello there! This book is definitely worth reading but it's nothing like the Fever series though. Sorry, if I said it was!

Feed is more like a Sci-Fi book. I hope you give this a try :D
